Kindergarten at CTK
Choosing a school for your child can be a difficult decision. We invite you to tour CTK's Kindergarten and see for yourself our quality, Christian education program.
Our Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Jackie Brooks, along with her classroom aides, make up our Kindergarten teaching team. In addition to a strong academic program, Mrs. Brooks provides interactive and exciting curriculum to keep your child engaged and learning.
Mrs. Brooks was also the Michigan District K-8 Teacher of the Year for the 2021-22 school year!
Kindergarten Curriculum
In Kindergarten, we are implementing those skills learned in the preschool classroom. Your student will continue to hone literacy skills and will be expected to work on sight words and memory verses. Your child will also be perfecting math skills, they will be introduced to social studies, explore science concepts, as well as have a daily religion lesson.
In addition to these in-classroom subjects, students in our Kindergarten program will also begin weekly art, music, Spanish, P.E., and computer classes.
Christ the King Lutheran School is excited for you to experience our school culture and see our kindergarten classroom in action.
Kindergarten Requirements
Your child must be five years of age by September 1 for enrollment consideration.
All new families must tour before applying.
Once your application is received, all students are required to take our benchmark assessment with our Kindergarten teacher.
A note from Mrs. Jackie Brooks- Kindergarten Teacher
There is nothing I love more than getting to spend my days with kindergartners at Christ The King! Kindergarten is a time of learning and growing and my main job is to help students gain the confidence to know they can do anything and to help them grow in their love for our Lord. I strive to make my classroom a place where my kids feel safe, loved, and challenged. Our class becomes a family where the students learn to take care of each other, pray for each other, and build each other up. We have fun and learn a LOT! I cannot wait to talk to you and your family about the difference Christ The King can make in your child's life!
What this means for you
